The Fall of Saigon:
On January 27, 1974, a peace treaty was signed in Paris that ended the conflict. By March of 1974, most American troops had left the country. There was a brief period of peace until late 1974, when North Vietnam recommenced fighting. Viet Cong and other North Vietnam troops easily beat ARVN forces and captured the Saigon on April 30, 1975. This even forced South Vietnam to surrender and the country was reunited under communism.
